In response to a question regarding his decision to study the active compound(s) in cannabis at the beginning of his career, the ‘grandfather of Medicinal Marijuana’ a personal hero, and the world’s foremost cannabis researcher Prof. Raphael Meshulam replied, “Well, a scientist should try to find topics of importance…” http://cannabisclinicians.org/

This article is not intended to convince you of the benefits of CBD. That, has already been done by the overwhelming response from users spanning the length and width of the globe. This article will help you to understand what Cannabidiol is in relation to Cannabis, as well as how and why it actually works.

Despite all of the fanfare around CBD (Cannabidiol) there is still a lot that most of us do not know, and even more that we think we know, and am entirely wrong about! There is very little data from rigorous scientific research on the medicinal and therapeutic effects of Cannabidiol on the endocannabinoid system. Although ongoing and promising, scientists are still in the early stages of studying the effects of Cannabidiol at a clinical level. That most certainly does not mean it does not live up to the “miracle from nature” hype —it just means more clinical research needs to be done to ensure those hype fueled arguments are scientifically based and ironclad.

Whether you have chosen to add it to your wellness routine or as a medicinal aid, you will soon find you are faced with a lot of questions as well as opinions, surprisingly without obvious answers. Like, “What IS CBD”? “But cannabis Is a drug, I don’t want to get high”. “Does it matter whether you are getting it from a capsule, drink, edible or topical lotion”? Does it work?

To fully understand nature’s intention with Cannabis, will take a lifetime of research that will probably leave one with even more questions than answers. What we do know, is that Cannabis Cbd/derivatives will be incorporated alongside conventional therapies. And although purists may proclaim it a fallacy, this is already the case, as is seen by the variety of cannabis infused products available to date. Many of the drugs that come from nature/natural products reach the market only as derivatives; penicillin, aloe and poppy seeds being an example.

Cannabis Hemp has evolved alongside human development and will continue to do so.

What is Cannabis Hemp?

The term ‘hemp’ refers to the plant Cannabis sativa L. and any part of that plant, including the seeds and all derivatives, extracts, cannabinoids(like CBD), isomers, acids and salts, whether the plant is growing or not, with a delta-9 tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) concentration of not more than 0.3 percent (on a dry weight basis). When purchasing cannabis infused products like oils, topical creams or capsules, one is generally presented with a Isolate or Full spectrum product. This essentially has to do with how the CBD product is formulated. CBD Isolate in short means that the CBD molecule is utilized on its own, while whole-plant CBD products contain other/all compounds from the cannabis plant as well. These compounds are closely related to the endogenous compounds that we make in our bodies. CBD oils are extracted using various methods including CO2-extraction, and are lab-tested for your safety.

What does CBD do and why does it work?

Cannabis based medicine, is essentially a plant based version of what your body makes on its own and as believed by many, originally not intended to get you high, because the plant has been around for longer than our species has. (Many believe, it is human “meddling” that tipped the scales in favor of higher THC strain plants for recreational use, that ultimately led to the plants reputation (demise) as a psychoactive drug in the first place) But once again, Cannabis has evolved and moved beyond THC, giving way to non-psychoactive compounds like CBD and the many cannabinoids and terpenes found in cannabis that gives each plant its unique attributes, to be researched and utilized for the enhancement of natural general well-being and health. Using CBD is very different from using THC high cannabis (the hint is in the “high”). Though CBD is extracted from cannabis, it does not lead to altered perception and cognition.

When external forces disturb the body’s homeostasis, the endocannabinoid system helps our body regain balance. Cannabis compounds like CBD are thought to assist in this balancing act, which can be disrupted by an unhealthy diet, stress, chronic disease or ill health, by binding to cannabinoid receptors in the body. (J. H. Atkinson, MD, of the Center for Medicinal Cannabis Research at the University of California, San Diego.)

CBD Isolate as found in Momma Dora’s quality products, focus on the interaction with the body’s endocannabinoid system, and continues to lead the way as an alternative medicine to aid restful sleep, reduce nausea and as a natural elixir for general well-being.

So to be clear, when the term ‘non-psychoactive’ is used in conjunction with CBD, this means the “high” factor is not detectable or so low (0.3%) that even the medical world would be surprised if you got a buzz from your product (which would mean it is not a CBD based, but rather a THC based product)

Momma Dora CBD oil, is produced from industrial hemp that is specifically cultivated to contain a high level of CBD. Their products contain No preservatives or chemicals, and are all gluten-free and vegan friendly. A perfectly balanced, 100% Natural herbal product, safe to use, not only for you, but also including your entire family. CBD As medicine should be…
